Beast's Chalkboard
Dual channel stepped voltage source and adder for eurorack. Primarily intended as a dual octave switcher for VCOs, with additional uses including sequence transposition, FM ratio creation, buffered CV distribution, and VCO calibration. Also functions as a 1-to-6 or dual 1-to-3 buffered mult.772
Capabilities 3
- Buffered Multiplebuffered-multiple
- All outputs and 'thru' are buffered. With voltage selectors at zero, the module buffers any control input signal across up to 6 outputs (1->6) or as dual 1->3.772
- DC Voltage Sourcedc-offset-source
- With nothing patched into either input, either output provides -2V to +2V depending on the position of the voltage selector rotary switch.772
- Precision Adderprecision-adder
- Adds a stepped DC offset (-2V to +2V in 1V steps) to an incoming CV signal, with buffered outputs. Primarily used as an octave switcher for VCOs.772
Jacks 8 — 2 in / 6 out
| Name | Signal | Voltage | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inputs (2) | |||
| CH1 CV In | cv | — | CV input for top channel. Normalized to bottom channel input when bottom input is unpatched.772 |
| CH2 CV In | cv | — | CV input for bottom channel. Normalized to top channel input when unpatched.772 |
| Outputs (6) | |||
| CH1 Buffered Out | cv | — | Buffered output presenting input CV plus the voltage offset selected by the rotary switch. Two buffered outputs per channel.772 |
| CH1 Buffered Out 2 | cv | — | 772 |
| CH1 Thru | cv | — | 772 |
| CH2 Buffered Out | cv | — | 772 |
| CH2 Buffered Out 2 | cv | — | 772 |
| CH2 Thru | cv | — | 772 |
Parameters 2
| Name | Type | Range | Behavior |
|---|---|---|---|
| CH1 Voltage Selector | menu_setting | -2V – 2V | Rotary switch selecting offset voltage in 1V steps from -2V to +2V (5 positions). Sets the voltage added to the CV input; with nothing patched, sets the output voltage directly.772 |
| CH2 Voltage Selector | menu_setting | -2V – 2V | Rotary switch selecting offset voltage in 1V steps from -2V to +2V. Can be chained with top channel by patching top output to bottom input, extending combined range to -4V to +4V (9 octaves).772 |
